Turkey and Afghanistan set to receive Iranian Steel via Rail

Following the international rail transportation, support domestic production, and national export capabilities, the Iranian Railway has started the loading of export goods for foreign markets.

The shipments are being transported using a combination of domestic and international rail wagons, marking a new era in rail-based exports

 “The first phase of export operations from the station is going to be started”. Seyed Reza Sadat Hosseini, Director-General of Yazd Railway, announced, He also confirmed that the first consignments include steel profiles destined for Turkey and steel billets to Afghanistan.

Hosseini highlighted that, pending successful operational outcomes, the station could handle up to 6,000 tons of export cargo monthly, serving various international destinations.

“As a key hub within Iran’s rail transport infrastructure, the Railway plays a vital role in strengthening domestic industries and improving exporters’ access to foreign markets. This initiative not only supports steel producers but also promotes economic ties with neighboring countries and boosts non-oil exports.” Hosseini stated.

Emphasized the railway’s readiness to collaborate with industrial stakeholders, traders, and exporters to expand the volume and diversity of export shipments, reinforcing its role as a critical node in Iran’s logistics chain.
